New Year and New Beginnings at MassCPAs
January 03, 2024
The start of a new calendar year is a great opportunity to reflect on the year gone by and commit to approaching the new year with purpose and intention. As I step into the role of president and CEO, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead.
We have a strong and vibrant membership, engaged and supportive volunteer leadership through our Board of Directors and an incredibly dedicated and talented staff. The relationship between these groups is a key part of our collective success and will continue to be a vital component as we tackle the challenges and opportunities in the year to come.
Coming into this position, my focus is on continuing to partner with our Board to set strategic priorities that build on our strong foundation and ensure that both the profession and the Society remain relevant long-term. A few priorities include addressing the pipeline and workforce development challenges, expanding our impact on advocacy issues and ensuring our learning and development programs remain nimble and responsive to the changes in the profession.
As part of our strategic planning process and in line with the transition timeline, we launched a member needs assessment last fall. We plan to leverage that data to continue building awareness of our offerings and providing valuable and meaningful opportunities for our members to learn, connect and prosper.
My goal is to engage with as many of you as possible, to not only understand your current needs, but also to help position our organization to meet your future needs as well. I, along with the team, welcome the opportunity for one-one-one conversations or visits with your entire organization, so please reach out and help us learn how best to serve you in the year to come and beyond.
